Royal Court

Our 2025 Winter Carnival King was born in Yonkers, New York and attended public schools in Yonkers. He received degrees from Paul Smiths College, and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY. His hobbies include skiing, hunting, canoeing, fishing and sports that include anything with a ball, and being with the people he loves. His volunteering is quite extensive, including Adirondack Hamlets to Huts, Paul Smiths College Land Advisory Committee, The Society of American Foresters, The Empire State Forest Products Association, Friends of Mt. Pisgah, Saranac Lake Youth Baseball, Tri Lakes Lacrosse, PAL football, and the Harrietstown Zoning Board. We are sure there is much more. He is retired from Molpus Woodlands Group and remains the owner of Timberland Assets Management LLC. He thoroughly enjoys working outside, walking the back country of the Adirondacks, working and playing in and around the trees. He is a former Franklin Country Legislator and is currently an Assessor for the Town of St. Armand. He is the son of Gene and Marion. He is the fifth of seven children. His Mom always referred to him as Number Five. He is married to Sue and is the father to Joseph, Steven, and Michael, and a grandfather to Delaney. Our 2025 Winter Carnival King is Tim Burpoe.

Our Winter Carnival Queen was born in Saranac Lake at what once was previously known as Saranac Lake General Hospital, located at the Hodson Hall, of North Country Community College. She has a very extensive resume in volunteering with the following organizations: Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Bloomingdale Fire Department Auxiliary, Saranac Lake Moose Club Member, Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Committee, Salvation Army Bell ringer, Pal Football Cheerleading, Holiday Helpers, Saranac Lake Central Above the Rim Club, Saranac Lake Central After Prom Party Committee, Pius X Center for Religious Education Programing, Woman’s Civic Chamber, VFW Auxiliary, and 3-P Race volunteer. She has previous Royal Family experience serving as a page, and as a member of the High School Court. Her hobbies include, cooking, traveling, and anything and everything that includes spending time with family and friends. She attended St. Bernard’s School, Petrova Middle School, and graduated from Saranac Lake High School and North Country Community College. She is a Registered Nurse and Assistant Director of Patient Services at North County Home Services. She is the daughter of Marge and Pat Howard, and a sister to Amy, Jim and Michael. She is the mother of Krysta, Kassandra and Nicholas. She is the mother-in-law to Yvonne, Sean and Dan. She is a grandmother to Aria, Hunter, Easton, Sumer, Noah, Sydney, and Jace. Our 2025 Winter Carnival Queen is Patti Sauvie.

Sue was born and raised in Saranac Lake. She is a proud mom to Adam and Jeni, and Nana to Gavin and Avery. Since 1996, when Adam began running, Sue has been a volunteer timer for the Cross Country and Track programs. She also coached the Indoor Track and Cross Country teams for a few years. Sue graduated from SLHS, NCCC, and SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education. She taught for 28 years, 27 in the Saranac Lake District. Since she retired, Sue and her husband, Miles, have put many miles on their car traveling to see the kids and grandkids, and nearly as many miles on their bikes. They are loving the new Rail Trail and try to hit it several times a week. Boating, skiing, gardening, and cooking also keep Sue occupied. Some of Sue’s favorite teaching memories were made with this year’s Court over the three (in some cases, four) years she taught them. She is honored to have this wonderful group choose her to be their Chamberlain. They hold a special place in her heart, and she is looking forward to sharing the Winter Carnival experience with them.

Gar was born and raised in Saranac Lake with his 5 siblings and graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1972. He was on the Winter Carnival Court his senior year. He moved to Bloomingdale with his wife Ann and has been married to her for 52 years. He is the father of Brandon, Bryan, twins Melissa and Joseph, and Taylor. Brandon, Bryan and Joseph are all past court members. He has 13 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He worked at several jobs over the years. Alongside his various jobs, he was a passionate wedding photographer for 37 years. He was a sports editor for the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, and he also worked for NYS at the Narcotic Addiction Control Commission in Ray Brook. He eventually went to work for his father at J.M. Munn Business Machines, which his father started in 1948. He worked there for 40 years before retiring and becoming a school bus driver for the Saranac Lake Central School District. He was CSEA Employee of the year in 2022-2023. It is clear to all who know him that he loves his job, the students, colleagues, teachers and coaches he has gotten to know over the years. He is thankful to the students and staff for choosing him as archbishop and wishes everyone a fun and safe carnival.

Owen is the son of Jamie Ryan and Douglas McRae. Owen is a graduate of the Charles Baker High School in Baldwinsville, NY. He is currently enrolled in the North Country Community College Radiologic Technology Program with plans to graduate in the spring of 2026. Owen enjoys spending time outdoors exploring new areas through hiking, fishing or hunting. Owen’s future plans include becoming an X-ray Technologist and real estate development as well as spreading as many smiles as he can.

Anni is the daughter of Brett and Mary Woods and she has 5 brothers and sisters. She is from Flagstaff, AZ where she graduated from Flagstaff High School in 2022. After graduation she traveled east and enrolled in Paul Smith’s College where she is a Junior majoring in Baking, Pastry and Service Management with a minor in Maple Harvesting and Production. During her free time, she enjoys canoeing, hiking and camping. Anni spent last summer working at the VIC as a Steward. Her indoor hobbies include art, literature and riffing on a guitar. Anni works at the AP Smith Bakery and as a Library Assistant in the Joan Weill Adirondack Library both on the campus of Paul Smith’s College. Anni is also a Resident Assistant for the Mental Health and Wellness dorm, as well as the president of the Food and Management Club. Anni also works with others to organize events for groups both on and off campus. After Graduation she intends to return to the southwest to be closer to her parents.

Emily is the daughter of John and Robin Gay. She is the twin sister to fellow 2025 Winter Carnival Court member Andrew and is the younger sister to twins Katelyn and Madelyn. Emily’s sister Madie was a member of the 2020 Winter Carnival Court, her grandfather Wallace Gay was Archbishop in 2004, and grandmother Donalda Gay was the 2^nd ever Carnival Queen in 1948. Emily is president of student council, a member of National Honor Society, and loves participating in Carnival fun. Emily hopes to become a teacher and wishes everyone a happy carnival.

Liam is the son of Christopher Nobles and Bethany Donnelly. He is the younger brother of Brennan Nobles. Liam is a six year track and field athlete, a three year football athlete, and a single year soccer player. Liam hopes to study Geology in college as well as run track. He is especially excited to participate in all the Winter Carnival games and activities.

Marley is the daughter of Bryan and Staci Logan. She works at Jreck Subs for her father. Marley also helps with the Carnival skating races and volunteers to help her hockey team. Marley provides salon services for people in the community as well. After high school she plans to attend a college for business and become a cosmetologist. Happy Carnival everyone!

Chayse is the son of Jodi Gunther and and the late Randy Delosh, as well as the step son of Jonathan LaPierre. He plays football and baseball for SLCS and enjoys a game of golf and fishing in his spare time. Chayse is a certified lifeguard and is currently enrolled in the New Visions program. He hopes to continue his education with a focus on teaching and coaching. Chayse is honored to be selected to the court as his father Randy Delosh also served our community on the court of 1990. Happy Carnival!

Tristan is the daughter of Michael and Samantha LaDue, and the younger sister of Calleigh. Tristan is a four year, two sport athlete in basketball and softball and has also participated in various other sports including soccer and flag football. She is a member of Key Club, and has volunteered time helping build the ice castle. Tristan plans to attend college for criminal justice, with a focus on forensic science. She is very excited to represent this year’s Winter Carnival court alongside her peers.

Andrew is the son of John and Robin Gay. He has a twin sister, Emily, who is a court member, and is the younger brother of twin sisters, Madie and Kaite. His grandmother Donalda Gay was the 2nd Queen of Winter Carnival. His grandfather, Wally Gay served as Archbishop in 2004, and sister Madie was a court member in 2020. Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, especially going on adventures with his papa. He is an avid sports enthusiast, works as a hockey referee, and loves hanging out with friends. A huge fan of Winter Carnival, Andrew is especially excited for Music Legends 2025!

Whitney is the daughter of Sara Willette and Travis Warner and is the sister of Faith Warner. She has assisted in the Winter Carnival skating races and volunteers for the sports teams in which she participates. Whitney is a cosmetology student at the Adirondack Educational Center. She plans to attend college for business and hopes to open her own salon. Whitney enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. She wishes everyone a legendary carnival!

Nate is the son of Amy Sloan and Nik McKay and the brother to 5 siblings. Nate is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in many volunteer opportunities such as Adirondack Film Festival and offering free tutoring at the high school. Nate plans to attend college for computer science and cyber security and dreams of leading a full and successful life. Happy Carnival!

Muna is the daughter of Romou and Ablre Kujabi and younger sister to Ida and Awa. Muna runs indoor and outdoor track and is a part of the Saranac Lake School Board. She is also a member of Key Club and the National Honor Society. She looks forward to attending college in the fall for diagnostic medical sonography. Muna is proud to be a part of the 2025 Winter Carnival Court and is excited for all of the memories she’ll make.

Dillon has a strong involvement in sports and Winter Carnival. He is the son of Bill and Anita Wilson, and brother to Owen and Gabe. He also has two dogs, Gus and Kona. His mother Anita was a part of the Carnival Court in 1990, while his brother Gabe held place on court in 2022, supported by his father Bill, who served as Chamberlain. Dillon was selected as a page in 2016. As he looks ahead to his future, he is set to attend college in the fall of 2025.

Zuleyka is the daughter of Amy and Hiram Oliveras, younger sister to Adrienne and dog mom to a lab mix, Milo. She has worked at Coakley’s Home and Hardware for the last 4 years. She has volunteered at Sparkle Village, the NCCC Craft fair, Iron Man, Tasting Tuesday at the Belvedere Restaurant, and many more. After high school, Zuleyka plans to attend pharmacy school and minor in Spanish. She would like to wish you a happy carnival.

Sam is the son of Jamie and Brandy Clark. He is the brother of Benjamin and Kasey Clark. He has also had the great opportunity to be a part of the Saranac Lake School Board. He plans on going to college and major in Architecture, and hopes to continue his athletic career at the collegiate level. Samuel is very excited to be a part of the 2025 Legendary Winter Carnival Court.

Abby was born and raised in Saranac Lake; she is the daughter of Katrena and Todd Isabella. She has one sister Ava and works at Jrecks Subs. Abby is a member of the girls’ varsity volleyball team. She plans to go to North Country Community College for nursing. She is so honored and excited to be a part of this year’s Winter Carnival Court.

Zack is the son of Brian and Tracy Goetz, and the younger brother of former court member Karlie. Zack is a 3 sport athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball. Zack plans on attending college in the fall to study landscape architecture and design. Zack would like to thank his family and friends for all the memories he has made and making him the person he is today.
